Construction of Daganbhuiyan Municipal Waste Management Plant stopped again due to local residents' objections

A government-approved project to build 32 "waste management plants" has been taken across Bangladesh under the Public Health Engineering Department. One of them is for Daganbhuiyan Municipality.

The estimated cost of the project is 10 crore taka. On Friday morning, October 10, the work of this project was supposed to start in a brickfield that was closed between three villages of Aziz Fazil Pur, Sekandarpur, and Mohammadpur in Ramnagar Union No. 4 of Daganbhuiyan Upazila. When the contractor came with working equipment in the morning, the locals protested together. In the end, the contractor returned without working due to the objections of the local residents. After this incident, a message was sent from the upazila administration. From that message, it is known that the project is not dumping, but a waste management plant.

There is no reason for bad smell or environmental pollution from this plant, it is a recycle system. Through this, the waste will be converted into fertilizer.

There will be no way to understand what is happening inside from the outside. There will be 16 feet high walls around it.

This project will be a blessing for Dagonbhuiyan. The work of the project has been started after arranging the place.

But the common people consider it a dumping station, due to not fully understanding about it, they have blocked it. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shahidul Islam has requested everyone to fully understand the matter and cooperate in the work of this project without being confused by information.
