


A family's urgent trip to the capital for medical treatment turned into a nightmare on Saturday morning when a head-on collision between an ambulance and a truck claimed three lives in Bhanga, Faridpur.
The deceased have been identified as Mizanur Rahman (40), his wife Ruqaiya Akhter Nila (32), and her brother Sakibur Rahman Nishan (27). All three were residents of the Jessore district.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 AM in the Munsarabad area on the Bhanga-Khulna Highway.
Mizanur Rahman had recently suffered a stroke and was being transported from Jessore to Dhaka for specialized care. On the way, their ambulance collided head-on with a Khulna-bound truck coming from the opposite direction.
Three passengers—Mizanur, his wife, and his brother-in-law—died on the spot. Two others, including the ambulance driver Krishna Das (55), sustained critical injuries.
Bhanga Highway Police, local authorities, and the fire service conducted a swift rescue operation. The injured were first taken to the Bhanga Upazila Health Complex before being transferred to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment.
Bhanga Highway Police OC Helal Uddin confirmed that the road has been cleared and traffic flow has returned to normal. Legal action regarding the collision is currently underway.
