The air ambulance, arranged by the Qatar government to transfer ailing BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia to London for medical treatment, is expected to arrive in Dhaka on Tuesday.
The aircraft is being rented by Qatar from the German aviation company, FAI Aviation Group. FAI Aviation Group submitted an application through a third party to the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) for a flight schedule.
The proposed schedule is to land in Dhaka on December 9 and depart for London on December 10.
CAAB has forwarded this request to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the necessary final government approval. Further logistical arrangements will proceed immediately following the government's official approval of the flight schedule.
The designated aircraft is a Bombardier Challenger 604 (CL60). CAAB sources confirmed that the Challenger 604 is a suitable choice for the Dhaka-London medical transfer, known for its strong transcontinental capability and extensive use in long-range medical evacuation missions.
