


Three more children have died from measles-like symptoms in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours. Concurrently, 1,034 new suspected and confirmed cases were reported across the country.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) shared these figures in its daily situation report on Tuesday, June 9.
According to the DGHS, 980 new suspected cases emerged nationwide between 8:00 a.m. Monday and 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, with 933 requiring hospital admission. Lab tests during this same 24-hour window confirmed 54 actual measles infections.
Over the last 86 days, the outbreak has resulted in 81,084 suspected cases and 66,170 hospitalizations. Of these, lab tests have officially confirmed 9,833 measles infections.
Despite the rising numbers, recovery rates remain steady. So far, 62,292 patients have recovered and returned home, including 114 who were discharged in the past 24 hours.
