A man surrendered to police on Sunday morning after allegedly stabbing his wife and mother-in-law to death in Dhaka’s Kalabagan area. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. at Kitchen Goli on Al Amin Road.

According to Kalabagan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Fazle Ashiq an argument broke out between the suspect Hridoy and his wife Farzana Akter Ratri over a family dispute. When Ratri's mother Firoza Begum attempted to intervene and calm the situation Hridoy violently attacked them both with a knife.

Ratri died at the scene. Firoza was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition where doctors later declared her dead. Following the fatal attacks Hridoy walked into the local police station and turned himself in, leading to his immediate detention.
