Alhaj Hafiz Ibrahim, Member of Parliament for Bhola-2, stated on Tuesday that the government is implementing a plan to appoint 100,000 health workers to ensure healthcare reaches every rural doorstep.
He made these remarks while inspecting a day-long free medical camp and medicine distribution program at Halima Khatun Women's Degree College in Daulatkhan, Bhola. The initiative, supported by Square Pharmaceuticals, marks the birth centenary of Square Group founder Samson H. Chowdhury.
"These health workers will travel door-to-door in both villages and cities to raise health awareness, with a specific focus on women's well-being," Ibrahim said.
The MP-led initiative provided medical consultations and essential medicines to thousands of residents in the coastal town. Senior officials including Square Pharmaceuticals Head of Sales Mojibur Rahman, and local leaders Abdul Mannan Mia and Shahjahan Saju, were also in attendance.
