


The Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign 2026 has been launched in Paikgachha, Khulna, with the goal of ensuring no child is left unvaccinated.
The campaign was inaugurated on Monday morning (April 20) at the conference room of the Upazila Health Complex. The program was organized by the Upazila Health Department and officially opened by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury. The session was chaired by Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Ahsanara Binte Ahmed.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Ahsanara Binte Ahmed said the campaign aims to vaccinate 20,540 children aged between 6 months and 5 years across the upazila over 11 working days, from April 20 to May 10. Vaccination will be conducted for eight days at community-level centers and three days at educational institutions.
Registered children will receive vaccines at designated centers, including permanent facilities at the Upazila Health Complex, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm daily. After vaccination, children will remain under observation for a short period.
Urging parents to participate, she said, “This is a large-scale initiative to protect children from measles and rubella. Parents should bring their children to the centers on time and avoid misinformation.” She added that online registration will remain open until the final day of the campaign.
Chief guest Wasiuzzaman Chowdhury emphasized the importance of vaccination, saying, “There is no alternative to vaccination for building a healthy future generation. Success of this campaign depends on cooperation from all concerned and active participation of guardians.”
The event was attended by Medical Officer Dr. Shakila Afroz, Supervisor Hamida Khatun, MT (EPI) Sahanara Parveen, Health Assistant Baby Sardar, Senior Staff Nurses Rehena Parveen, Monira Khatun, Mousumi Fauzdar, Aarti Sardar, Pragya Maitra, along with media representatives and health officials.
