Private teachers are an integral part of the state and play a vital role in building the nation, said Alhaj Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, Member of Parliament for Khulna-6 (Paikgacha-Koyra).

Speaking as the guest of honor at a reception organized by the Paikgacha Upazila Teachers' Association on Saturday, April 4, the MP described teachers as the primary architects of society. He emphasized that teachers deserve honor and representation at all levels without discrimination.

Addressing the governance of educational institutions, MP Azad pledged that school committee presidents would no longer be selected based on political identity or personal influence.

"In the past 17 years, many educational institutions were damaged by appointing corrupt and incompetent individuals as presidents," he stated. "This time, only qualified and honest people will lead these institutions. I will neither engage in corruption nor allow others to do so."

He further instructed government officials to perform their duties with sincerity and accountability, free from partisan influence.

The event was presided over by Matiur Rahman, acting president of the Upazila Secondary Teachers' Association. Special guests included district and upazila leaders Maulana Golam Sarwar, Maulana Aminul Islam, Maulana Kamal Hossain, and Maulana Saidur Rahman. The program, moderated by Babar Ali Goldar and Shamsur Rahman, featured speeches from several headmasters and local educators. During the ceremony, the association presented MP Azad with a crest and certificate of honor.
