680 Livestock and Poultry Receive Free Medical Care in Lama

A total of 680 cattle and poultry received free medical services and vaccinations in the remote hilly areas of Rupsipara union, Lama upazila. The initiative was organized on Sunday (January 18) by Caritas Bangladesh under its PAEP-3 project.

During the drive, 64 local beneficiaries received support for their animals. The medical services including Vaccinations: 94 cows, 94 goats, and 492 poultry. Medicine: 70 deworming tablets distributed. Treatment: Specialized medical care for 8 sick animals and birds.

Upazila Livestock Officer (Extension) Usuithoi Marma provided technical support for the program. Caritas Field Officer Xavier Tripura and several field assistants were also present.

Xavier Tripura stated that this is part of a larger plan to improve livestock health in the region. Between October 2025 and September 2027, the project aims to conduct 52 vaccination programs across 26 neighborhoods in Lama Sadar, Rupsipara, and Phansiakhali unions.
