Nalchiti UNO meets local businessmen to discuss February referendum

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) and Municipal Administrator Md. Jobayer Habib held a meeting with local businessmen on Saturday night to discuss business prospects and the upcoming national referendum.

The meeting, held at Nabi Mahal Bazar near the Shaheed Hadi Launch Ghat, was organized by the local business community. OC (Investigation) of Nalchiti Police Station, Md. Ashrab Ali, attended as a special guest.

During the session, businessmen highlighted various operational challenges and requested administrative support. In response, the UNO assured them that the municipality would address their issues in phases according to the budget.

Turning to national issues, the UNO briefed the gathering on the importance of the 13th National Parliament elections and the constitutional referendum scheduled for February 12.

“The administration is determined to ensure a transparent and impartial election process,” the UNO stated. “We want to build a country free from tyranny. Your cooperation is vital in encouraging citizens to vote fearlessly.”

He explained that the referendum is a key step in preventing a return to fascist governance and ensuring no single party holds unchecked power. Following the discussion, the attendees expressed their support for the upcoming vote.

The program concluded with a prayer for the eternal peace of the soul of former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia and local revolutionary figure Shaheed Sharif Osman Hadi.
