A double-cabin pickup has been handed over to Ramganj Police Station in Lakshmipur to strengthen crime prevention and public safety operations. At the same time, water filters and various health and hygiene supplies have been distributed among different police units across the district.
The initiatives were carried out on Sunday (September 6) under the direction of Lakshmipur Superintendent of Police Md Abu Tarek.
The double-cabin pickup was handed over to Ramganj Police Station with the aim of improving its operational capacity, strengthening security for residents and making crime prevention activities more effective.
According to district police officials, the vehicle is expected to support field-level law enforcement and help police respond more efficiently to emergencies and security-related activities.
Alongside the vehicle handover, 16 water filters were distributed among various police stations, police outposts and investigation centres across Lakshmipur.
Soap, handwash, Harpic and other essential hygiene products were also provided to improve access to safe drinking water and maintain healthier working environments for police personnel.
District police officials said the initiatives are part of broader efforts to improve the working conditions of police members while strengthening the capacity required to maintain law and order at the grassroots level.
Several senior officials attended the programme, including Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Hossain Mohammad Raihan Kazemi, PPM-Service; Assistant Superintendent of Police (Raipur Circle) Md Abdur Rashed; Assistant Superintendent of Police (Ramgati Circle) Md Shamsul Alam; Assistant Superintendent of Police (Probationer) Md Ehsanul Haque; Medical Officer Dr Fatematuz Zohra; DIO-1; RI (Police Lines); TI (Administration); and officers in charge of various police stations, outposts and investigation centres.
Officials and members from different levels of the district police also attended the programme.
The district police said improving logistical support and ensuring a healthier working environment for its personnel would contribute to more effective policing and better public service.
