


Faridpur Municipality conducted a large-scale eviction drive on Monday evening to dismantle hundreds of illegal structures encroaching on city footpaths and roads.
The operation started from 4:00 PM into the evening, was led by Municipality Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hossain Mohammad Hai Zakir. Municipal officers and staff targeted severe encroachment zones in the heart of the city including the Janata Bank intersection, Chawkbazar, Thana Road, Mahakali Pathshala intersection, Moira Patti and the areas fronting New Market and Balaka Super Market.
This ongoing initiative aims to ease traffic congestion and restore safe also accessible walkways for pedestrians. During the drive, authorities removed unauthorized makeshift shops and structural extensions that had occupied public spaces.
CEO Zakir emphasized that these eviction operations will continue regularly to keep Faridpur’s footpaths strictly encroachment-free. He issued a stern warning to encroachers against rebuilding any illegal structures on walkways or roads and urged city residents and local businesses to cooperate in keeping the streets accessible.
