Tarique Rahman is coming to Faridpur for the first time, expectations are high

Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairman Tarique Rahman is coming to Faridpur for the first time, focusing on the upcoming 13th National Parliament elections. He will participate as the chief guest in the Faridpur divisional election public meeting at the city's Government Rajendra College ground tomorrow, Wednesday. Leaders and activists are seen making extensive preparations for this occasion. The leaders and activists are excited about the party chief's first visit to Faridpur.

According to district BNP sources, Tarique Rahman will land at the River Research Institute ground in the city by helicopter at 1:45 pm tomorrow after the rally in Barisal. After that, he will join the public meeting at the Government Rajendra College ground by car from there. Leaders and activists from Faridpur, Rajbari, Madaripur, Gopalganj and Shariatpur of greater Faridpur will join this meeting. More than two lakh people will gather in it. To this end, law enforcement agencies will be on alert along with their own security arrangements. In addition, more than two hundred of their own volunteers will be deployed.

On Tuesday afternoon, when we went to the rally site, it was seen that work was underway to build a stage in front of the academic building on the college grounds. In addition, work was underway to install sound system mics and sound boxes across the field. At that time, leaders and activists of Faridpur divisional BNP, district BNP and various organiza- tions were present on the field.

In this regard, BNP Central Executive Committee Co-Organizing Secretary (Faridpur Divisional) Khandaker Mashukur Rahman Mashuk said that Faridpur has started dressing up in honor of Tarique Rahman's arrival. A kind of excitement is seen among the leaders and activists. The largest gathering will be held here. Leaders and activists of all the organiza- tions of Faridpur district BNP are working tirelessly to make this rally a success. The stage will be modernized and ready by night. The district administration and police administration are providing us with full support for this public meeting. In addition, the CSF force will be in its own security zone at the rally site.

Meanwhile, the leaders and activists have expressed various expectations regarding Tarique Rahman's arrival. Implementation of Faridpur division, full-fledged university, and city corporation are among their demands. District BNP convener Syed Modarres Ali Icha said, "In the past few days, empty talk has been spread about development in Faridpur. Therefore, we have many expectations from Tarique Rahman. We have demands from him to implement Faridpur division. We expect to make an industrial zone for employment for the people of this region. We will present these issues at the public meeting."

On the other hand, law enforcement agencies are inspecting the field step by step from 11 am for overall security arrangements. Superintendent of Police Md. Nazrul Islam said, "We have learned that people from different areas of greater Faridpur will participate in this public meeting focusing on the elections. The police administration has taken necessary measures to ensure that no kind of chaos occurs. Besides, other law enforcement agencies will also be in the field. "I hope they can rally peacefully."
