Abul Khair Bhuiyan is contesting from the Lakshmipur-2 (part of Raipur and Sadar) constituency from BNP in the 13th National Parliament election.

BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was elected from this constituency twice. When she vacated the seat, Khair Bhuiyan was elected in the by-election.
He is currently serving as the advisor to the BNP Chairperson. Abul Khair Bhuiyan had 11 cases in his name. However, he was acquitted in all of them.
