


US President Donald Trump has congratulated Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, wishing him success. At the same time, the US President called for the speedy implementation of the necessary agreements to further strengthen mutual trade relations and expand defense cooperation.

In his congratulatory letter, Trump wrote, "On behalf of the American people, I congratulate you on your historic election and wish you success as the Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh."
Congratulating the new government of Bangladesh, the US President said that the partnership between the two countries is based on mutual respect and the common interest of building a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
The letter also said that the implementation of the mutual trade agreement will benefit the farmers and workers of the two countries and it will be possible to maintain the positive progress of the existing trade relationship.
In the letter, the US President expressed hope that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman will take firm steps to implement regular defense agreements.
Trump wrote that this will give Bangladesh's military access to high-quality, modern military equipment made in the United States, which will further strengthen bilateral security cooperation.
He expressed hope that the US-Bangladesh relationship will be further strengthened under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman and expressed his interest in working together to ensure the prosperity and security of the two countries.
In the letter, Trump also mentioned his full confidence in US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen.
He expressed his hope to work with the new government of Bangladesh to take bilateral relations to new heights and wished the Prime Minister a successful tenure.
