Tarique Rahman, the eldest son of Bangladesh Army Chief, President and BNP founder Ziaur Rahman and three-time Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, returned to Bangladesh as a hero on December 25, 2025, and said at a reception conference, 'I have a plan.'

Later, he presented his plan at election rallies in various places across the country. In the plan, he told the nation to give importance to all basic issues including improving the quality of life of the people, law and order situation, education, health. The people were satisfied with Tarique Rahman's plan and gave him a huge majority in the February 12 elections. Tarique Rahman formed the entire cabinet by winning 209 seats alone.

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman was sworn in as the 11th Prime Minister of Bangladesh last Tuesday as per the party's decision.

After gaining a single majority, Tarique Rahman organized a press conference with local and foreign journalists at the Intercontinental Hotel in the capital. There, he expressed his desire to maintain relations with foreign countries by protecting the country's interests.

At the same time, he spoke softly about the rule of law in the country. He said that he will never tolerate any injustice, oppression, or torture from any side.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has announced not to use government vehicles. He will use his own car, his own driver, and his own purchased fuel. He is not using the Prime Minister's government vehicle. Today, the Prime Minister went to Savar and Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in his own Toyota car for his programs. From there, he went to the Secretariat in that car.

BNP sources said that considering the traffic congestion, the number of his motorcade has been reduced on the Prime Minister's orders. So far, the number of the Prime Minister's motorcade was 13-14. Today, it has been reduced to 4.

The Prime Minister is using a car without a flag. However, it is known that the flag will be used on the Prime Minister's car during state events or visits by foreign guests.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has decided to hold cabinet meetings in the Secretariat from now on. Because when the cabinet meeting is held at the Prime Minister's Office, there is a traffic jam in the movement of all the ministers from the secretariat, and the common people face hardship due to the movement of VIPs. Considering these things, the Prime Minister has decided to hold most of the cabinet meetings at the secretariat.

The Prime Minister has also instructed the concerned ministry to stop the provision of uniformed police on both sides of the road along the Prime Minister's journey in the capital.

In the morning, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman rode his white Toyota car from his Gulshan residence to the National Memorial in Savar and paid tribute to the martyrs. The number of his motorcade was small at this time.

From Savar, the Prime Minister laid wreaths at the graves of martyred President Ziaur Rahman and the late Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. The entire cabinet members were with the Prime Minister at both places. After that, the Prime Minister went to the secretariat.

Meanwhile, yesterday, Wednesday, was Tarique Rahman's first working day as Prime Minister. He told the secretaries that the people have given their verdict according to the BNP's election manifesto. Therefore, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has urged the secretaries to be sincere in implementing the promises of that election manifesto according to the constitution and the law.

He said, "We have told everyone that we will not look at who has what affiliation. We will verify everyone based on merit."

In this meeting held on Wednesday afternoon, the new Prime Minister initially set three priorities on behalf of the new government and instructed everyone to implement them.

The three priorities are - keeping prices under control, improving the law and order situation and maintaining normal power and energy supply.

Meanwhile, Tarique Rahman has shown a different surprise in the political field by meeting the Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami, the head of the Jatiya Nagorik Party and the Charmonai Pir. Tarique Rahman did not invite these national leaders to his house, but he himself went to their houses to meet them.

Political analysts believe that such a political decision by Tarique Rahman will be an important chapter in the history of the country's politics. He wants to build the future Bangladesh with people of all parties and views. After 55 days of exile, Tarique Rahman has introduced many positive trends in Bangladeshi politics.

They believe that if all the politicians of the country and those in charge fulfill their responsibilities properly, then no one can stop the progress of Bangladesh.

Professor Dr. Kazi Mahabubur Rahman, a teacher in the Department of Political Science at Dhaka University, said that former President Ziaur Rahman and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia received the unwavering love of the people of this country. We are optimistic about the trend in which Tarique Rahman has started politics and is fulfilling his responsibilities to the country. We hope that something good will happen in the future Bangladesh.
