A five-member BNP delegation held a meeting with visiting US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, S. Paul Kapur, on Thursday morning.

Led by BNP Standing Committee member Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan, the meeting took place at the US Ambassador's residence in Gulshan. The delegation included Barrister Muhammad Nawshad Zamir, Dr. Mahbubur Rahman, Nayeba Yusuf, and Dhaka District BNP General Secretary Advocate Nipun Roy Chowdhury.

The discussion, which lasted approximately 50 minutes, focused on bilateral relations, contemporary political developments, and the democratic process following the recent national elections. Speaking to reporters afterward, Dr. Moyeen Khan described the United States as a long-standing friend of Bangladesh and noted that such high-level visits are a natural part of engaging with a new government to discuss future policy directions.

Assistant Secretary Kapur arrived in Dhaka on Tuesday night for a two-day visit to strengthen strategic and economic ties between the two nations. His itinerary includes meetings with senior government officials, business leaders, and representatives from various political parties.
