Six elected leaders of the National Citizens' Committee (NCP) have taken oath as members of Parliament. Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin administered the oath to them at around 1:15 pm on Tuesday (February 17).

The NCP MPs also took oath as members of the Constitution Reform Council. The NCP participated in the elections as an alliance partner of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami in this election. Earlier, Jamaat MPs also took oath as members of the Constitution Reform Council.

However, BNP MPs did not take the oath of the Constitution Reform Council today.

Before the oath-taking ceremony of the elected BNP MPs at the Parliament House, BNP Standing Committee member Salahuddin Ahmed addressed the party MPs. He said that they are not taking the oath of the Constitution Reform Council today.

Holding two forms in hand, white and blue, Salahuddin Ahmed said, "None of us have been elected as members of the Constitution Reform Council and this has not been enshrined in the Constitution yet." If the Constitutional Reform Council is formed according to the referendum verdict, it must be enshrined in the constitution first, and provisions must be made for who will administer the oath to the members of the Constitutional Reform Council.
