Police regained its self-respect through elections: Press Secretary

The police have regained their self-respect through elections, said Shafiqul Alam, the press secretary to the chief advisor. He said this at a press conference at the Foreign Service Academy auditorium on Sunday (February 15) afternoon.

The press secretary said, today the cabinet observed that the police have regained their self-respect through this election. You know, about the role of the police in July-August 2024. I do not want to repeat it again. But many used to say that the confidence of the police is low. Will we see a good election with this police? There was such talk. You have seen that they have played a good role.

Shafiqul Alam said, for the first time, a very big use of body worn cameras has been made. The chief advisor himself sat at the police headquarters and observed for about an hour and a half. He spoke directly to 17 centers. The cabinet hopes that when it is deployed more widely in the upcoming elections, it will give better results. Then there was the Suraksha app, which has been very useful for the coordination of those conducting the elections.

He said that CCTV was very helpful. The Home Affairs Advisor said in his speech that four deaths are being reported after the elections. Out of them, one actually died due to election-related violence. And regarding the issue of the girl who was a weapon, he said that an investigation committee is being formed in this regard. It will be thoroughly looked into and investigated.

Senior Assistant Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor Faiz Ahmed, Assistant Press Secretary Suchismita Tithi and others were present at the time.
