


The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) has disclosed the identities of the six Bangladeshi peacekeepers killed and eight injured in a drone attack yesterday on the UN logistics base in Kadugli, Sudan's Abyei area. The Bangladesh Army strongly condemned the "brutal terrorist attack" carried out by a separatist armed group.
Six Bangladeshi peacekeepers were killed and eight others injured during a drone attack on the UN base in Kadugli, between 3:40 pm and 3:50 pm local time, while on duty with the UN Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA).
The ISPR attributed the attack to a separatist armed group. Identities of the Fallen: Corporal Md Masud Rana, ASC (Natore), Sainik Md Mominul Islam, Bir (Kurigram), Sainik Shamim Reza, Bir (Rajbari), Sainik Shanta Mondal, Bir (Kurigram), Mess Waiter Mohammad Jahangir Alam (Kishoreganj), Laundry employee Md Sabuj Mia (Gaibandha)
Condition of the Injured: Sainik Md Mezbaul Kabir, whose condition was initially critical, underwent successful surgery and is now under close observation.
The remaining seven injured peacekeepers have been evacuated by helicopter for advanced treatment and are now confirmed to be out of danger. The eight injured personnel include Lieutenant Colonel Khondaker Khalekuzzaman, Sergeant Md Mostakim Hossain, Corporal Afroza Parvin Eti, Lance Corporal Mohibul Islam, Sainik Md Mezbaul Kabir, Sainik Umme Hani Akter, Sainik Chumki Akter, and Sainik Md Manazir Ahsan.
The Bangladesh Army issued a statement condemning the "brutal terrorist attack." It honored the deceased, stating their sacrifice would remain a "proud testament to Bangladesh's commitment to global peace."
The Army expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
