US President Donald Trump has said the Iran war could end very quickly as efforts continue to resolve tensions over the Strait of Hormuz blockade and Tehran’s nuclear program.

According to Reuters, Trump made the remarks during a phone call with party supporters.

“We are doing this for very important reasons. We cannot allow them to build nuclear weapons,” Trump said.

He also said most people understand the issue and support the US position.

“I think most people understand that what we are doing is right. It will be resolved very quickly,” Trump added.

Trump expressed hope that ongoing negotiations could lead to a quick settlement of the conflict.
