Protests in Israel in support of US President Donald Trump's Gaza ceasefire proposal

Thousands of Israelis have taken to the streets of Tel Aviv in support of a US ceasefire deal to end the war in Gaza. The crowd held a large banner reading "Now or Never."

Protesters on Saturday night (October 4) demanded an immediate ceasefire and the return of the remaining prisoners.

According to the Times of Israel, US President Donald Trump himself is echoing the message and is posting pictures of the banner.

"Now is the time to focus on a ceasefire, getting all the hostages back and ending the war. For a long time, it seemed impossible to return the hostages and end the war. But now is the time to make the impossible possible," said an elderly Israeli protester.
