Kurigram Farmers Receive Free Seeds and Fertilizers Under Kharif-2 Incentive

To support small and marginal farmers, a free agricultural input distribution program was launched on Monday at the Nageshwari Upazila Parishad premises.

Organized by the Upazila Agricultural Extension Department, the initiative is part of the government’s crop incentive program for the Kharif-2 season of the 2025-26 fiscal year. During the midday event, grassroots farmers were provided with chemical fertilizers, vegetable seeds, support poles, and a variety of fruit, timber, and medicinal tree seedlings to help boost local agricultural production.

Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) H.M. Khodadad Hossain officially inaugurated the distribution. The event was also attended by Upazila Agriculture Officer Shahriar Hossain, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officer Mostafizur Rahman, Upazila Jamaat Amir Abdul Alim, and Municipal BNP Member Secretary Azizul Haque, alongside other local stakeholders.

The timely distribution aims to ease the financial burden on farmers ahead of the upcoming planting season and encourage sustainable afforestation in the region.
