The Upazila Agriculture Office has launched its summer agricultural incentive program to support small and marginal farmers in Porsha for the 2025-2026 fiscal year.

Naogaon-1 MP Md. Mostapizur Rahman inaugurated the initiative as the chief guest on Thursday at the Upazila Parishad auditorium. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rakibul Islam chaired the event, while Agriculture Officer Mamunur Rashid delivered the welcome address.

Following the inauguration, authorities distributed free seeds, seedlings, and chemical fertilizers to 2,500 farmers across the upazila. The incentives aim to boost Aman rice cultivation during the Kharif season. The support package also includes resources for summer onions, chilies, lemons, various vegetables, tree plantations, and the installation of air-flow machines.

Key attendees included Porsha Thana Officer-in-Charge Ziaur Rahman, Project Implementation Officer Mahmudul Haque Titu, local BNP leaders Sadequl Islam and Taufiqur Rahman Shah Chowdhury, alongside agriculture department officials and local farmers.
