The Chittagong Education Board has postponed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and equivalent examinations until July 16 due to severe weather and ongoing floods.
Prime Minister’s Advisor Mahdi Amin announced the temporary suspension during a press conference on Saturday afternoon. The decision was finalized after urgent assessments with regional Deputy Commissioners (DCs), prioritizing the safety and well-being of students and guardians in the disaster-struck areas.
"The Prime Minister is monitoring the flood situation round the clock," Amin stated. He emphasized that the government is treating the crisis with the utmost urgency, coordinating efforts across multiple ministries to manage the natural disaster.
Furthermore, Amin noted that the Prime Minister has directed local administrations to stand directly beside affected communities. Political leaders and activists have also been urged to actively participate in emergency relief operations.
The concerned education authorities will announce the revised schedule for the postponed examinations at a later date.
