An 18-year-old student Md. Nayan was hacked to death on his way home in Lalmohan, Bhola, on Thursday (July 2) over a past enmity. Two of his companions were seriously injured in the attack.

The incident occurred around 1:30 pm in the Shanirpol area of Ward No. 5. The assailants fled the scene immediately after the assault.

Nayan was an 11th-grade student at Dr. Azhar Uddin Degree College and the son of local businessman Md. Salauddin from Ward No. 9.

The two injured victims, Arman (son of Md. Ali Jinnah) and Ashraf (son of Abul Kalam Azad), have been referred to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment due to the severity of their wounds.

Lalmohan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Aliul Islam confirmed the incident. "The deceased's body is currently at the Lalmohan Upazila Health Complex. Operations are underway to identify and arrest the attackers," he stated.
