A 25-year-old man died and a pedestrian was severely injured in a motorcycle accident in Bhola’s Borhanuddin upazila on Saturday evening.

The deceased, Md. Ismail, son of village watchman Md. Maksud from Chakdosh, was en route to join a rally organized by local Brazil football fans.

According to witnesses, Ismail lost control of his motorcycle near the Daulatkhan Road intersection on the Bhola-Charfassion Regional Highway at around 5:15 PM. The bike struck a pedestrian, identified as Sabuj, before plunging into a roadside ditch.

Locals rushed both victims to the Borhanuddin Upazila Health Complex. Dr. Rafsana, the on-duty medical officer, declared Ismail dead upon arrival. Sabuj, who sustained critical injuries, was transferred to Barishal for advanced medical treatment.

Borhanuddin Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Abu Zafar confirmed that officers visited the hospital upon receiving the report. However, Ismail’s family had already taken his body home.
