


In a major development Detective Branch (DB) Police have arrested Major (retd) Md. Mozaffar Hossain, the convicted murderer of martyred former President Ziaur Rahman. Evading justice for 45 years, Hossain has now been handed over to the Bangladesh Army.
On the international front, UN Secretary-General António Guterres has appointed Bangladeshi diplomat Rabab Fatima as the new Special Representative for Afghanistan and Head of the UN Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA).
