A human chain and protest rally took place in Paikgachha, Khulna, to demand immediate action against the rising spread of online gambling and narcotics.
On Saturday afternoon, May 2, the Gadaipur Blood Bank organized the demonstration on the main road of Notun Bazar. The event began with a protest procession starting from the Gadaipur intersection, which moved through the town's primary streets.
The program was chaired by SM Mokhlesur Rahman Kajal, founder of Gadaipur Blood Bank and a district-level leader. During the rally, speakers—including local BNP leaders, business association representatives, and members of the Mohila Dal—expressed grave concern over the social decay caused by addiction and illegal betting apps.
They concluded the rally by urging the local police and administration to implement stricter enforcement and dismantle drug and gambling networks operating within the upazila.
