


Daganbhuiyan Upazila welcomed the Bengali New Year 1433 (Pahela Baishakh) with traditional festivities and vibrant cultural displays. Organized by the upazila administration, local educational institutions and cultural groups, the celebrations drew crowds from all walks of life.
The day began with a colorful "Mangal Shobhajatra" (procession) featuring students, teachers and local residents. Following the parade a cultural programme was held at the Ataturk Government Model High School ground showcasing traditional songs, dances, and poetry recitations. A notable highlight was a performance by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Shahidul Alam which added to the audience's delight.
A traditional Baishakhi fair was a major attraction, featuring stalls filled with handicrafts, clay toys and local delicacies. Attendees also enjoyed folk performances including Baul songs and Palagan, celebrating the heart of rural heritage.
Earlier in the morning the Upazila Officers’ Club hosted a traditional breakfast of Panta-Ilish and various Bhartas. In a gesture of inclusivity the Upazila Health Complex served improved local meals to admitted patients to mark the occasion.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md. Shahidul Islam coordinated the event which saw active participation from political leaders, journalists and members of the local community.
