The day began at 8:30 AM with a "Mangal Shobhajatra" (New Year procession) that started from the Upazila complex and paraded through the town's main roads. Before the rally a discussion meeting was held at the Baishakhi Mela grounds within the administration premises.

Following the procession participants enjoyed a traditional Panta festival. The celebrations continued into the afternoon with a cultural programme featuring local artists.

Government officials, teachers, students, and residents from all walks of life participated in the festivities marking the first day of the Bangla calendar with enthusiasm.
