


Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, Member of Parliament for Pabna Sadar, said journalist Abdul Majid Dudu will be remembered in the history of journalism in Pabna.
He said Dudu’s reporting was based on facts, data and truth, and focused on public welfare. He never allowed personal opinions to influence his news.
The MP made the remarks while speaking as chief guest at a memorial meeting and prayer mahfil marking the 11th death anniversary of the late journalist on Saturday night (April 4).
The event was organised by Pabna Press Club at its VIP auditorium, with club president Akhtaruzzaman Akhtar in the chair. General Secretary Zahurul Islam delivered the welcome speech.
Among others who spoke were former press club president Professor Shibjit Nag, former president ABM Fazlur Rahman, veteran journalist Abdul Matin Khan, Naresh Madhu of The Daily Observer, Rajiur Rahman Rumi of Ekushey Television and Manabzamin, Mahfuz Alam of The Daily News, executive member Shahin Rahman, NGO executive director Mazhar Islam, and director Abdus Samad.
The programme began with a one-minute silence in memory of Abdul Majid Dudu, followed by prayers for his eternal peace.
The event was moderated by vice-president SM Alauddin and cultural editor Yad Ali Mridha Pavel.
