


The Nalchiti Upazila administration celebrated the Great Martyrs' Day and International Mother Language Day-2026 with due dignity and solemnity. A discussion meeting and award distribution ceremony was held today, Saturday, February 21, organized by the Nalchiti Upazila administration.
Nalchiti Upazila Executive Officer Md. Jobayer Habib presided over the program, and Israt Sultana Elen Bhutto, the newly elected member of parliament from Jhalakathi-2 constituency, was present as the chief guest and delivered a speech.
Assistant Commissioner (Land) Rizvi Ahmed Sabuj, Upazila BNP President Adv. Anichur Rahman Khan Helal, Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr. Shiuli Parvin and Nalchiti Police Station OC (Investigation) Md. Ashraf Ali.
Also speaking were former Senior Vice President of Nalchiti Upazila BNP and former successful Chairman of Kulkathi Union, freedom fighter Md. Rafiqul Islam Molla, Vice President of Nalchiti Press Club Md. Shahadat Hossain Monu, Upazila Volunteer Party Convener Touhid Alam Manna and Government Nalchiti Degree College Lecturer Mallik Moniruzzaman among others.
The meeting highlighted the history of the sacrifice of language martyrs, the importance of protecting the dignity of the Bengali language and increasing the practice of the mother tongue among the new generation. The speakers said that the 1952 Language Movement formed the basis of the identity of the Bengali nation. The right to the mother tongue was achieved through the sacrifice of the martyrs.
At the end of the discussion, prizes were distributed among the winners of various competitions. Officials of various departments of the upazila, teachers, students and dignitaries were present.
