A Dhaka court on Sunday granted the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) until February 19 to submit its further investigation report on the murder of Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi.

Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Jashita Islam issued the new deadline after the agency failed to submit the report as scheduled on Sunday (February 15).

Sharif Osman Hadi, a prominent youth activist and spokesperson for the Inqilab Mancha, was shot while traveling in a battery-run auto-rickshaw in the capital's Bijoy Nagar area on December 12, 2025. He succumbed to his injuries six days later, on December 18, while undergoing treatment in Singapore.

Initially filed as an "attempted murder" case by Inqilab Mancha Member Secretary Abdullah Al Zaber, the charges were updated to Section 302 (murder) following Hadi’s death.
