


Two drug peddlers along with ganja, yaba tablets, cash and country-made weapons have been arrested in a joint force operation in Nalchiti of Jhalakati district.
On Wednesday (February 4) at around 12:30 am, the joint force conducted an operation in Anurag area based on secret information. During the operation, Sohrab was arrested from a watermelon field in that area. Later, based on Sohrab's information, Gias was arrested and 600 grams of marijuana, 42 packets of Yaba tablets, 17192 taka in cash, a measuring cup for marijuana, marijuana production equipment, and indigenous weapons were recovered from their custody.
The authenticity of the attack was confirmed by three officers of the Nalchiti army camp, Camp Commander Tanvir, Second in Command Captain Saiyar and Lieutenant Sourav. Two drug dealers along with their accompanying force were arrested.
The detainees are Sohrab (35), son of Sobahan Ali of the Gauripasha area of the municipality, and Gias Mallick (35), son of Ansar Mallick of the same area.
According to joint force sources, the initial investigation revealed that the detainees had been involved in drug trafficking for a long time. The process of taking legal action regarding the recovered drugs is ongoing.
Preparations are being made to file a case in the relevant police station in this incident. In addition, the investigation is continuing to identify others involved in the drug ring.
