Two Arrested with 1 Kg of Marijuana in Nalchiti

District Detective Branch (DB) police arrested two suspected drug dealers with one kilogram of marijuana in Nalchiti, Jhalakathi.

Acting on a tip-off, a DB team conducted a raid near the new bus stand in the Kalijira Bridge area at around 8:10 p.m. on Wednesday (June 24).

The suspects, identified as Babul Sikder, 53, and Arif Sikder, 28, were detained and searched during the operation, leading to the recovery of the drugs.

According to DB police, the raid was part of an ongoing special anti-drug drive. Authorities have filed a case against the two men at the Nalchiti Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act of 2018.

Police officials stated that operations against drug trafficking will continue across the district, and strict legal action will be taken against offenders. Further legal proceedings regarding this incident are underway.
