


Three people suffered burn injuries in a gas cylinder explosion in Chattogram on Monday morning, according to hospital and police sources.
The explosion occurred around 11:00am in Azad Colony of the Signal Tekpara area, located on the outskirts of the city. The injured were taken to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) and admitted to the Burn and Plastic Surgery Department.
The injured have been identified as Mohammad Kamrul, 20, Mohammad Badsha, 25, and Shahanur Begum, 25.
Local residents said they rushed to the scene after hearing a loud blast and found several people with burn injuries lying on the ground. The injured were later transported to the hospital.
Dr Mohammad S Khaled, head of the Burn and Plastic Surgery Department at CMCH, said two men and one woman sustained burns to 20–30 percent of their bodies. He said their mouths and airways were affected, raising concerns about lung damage, and described their condition as critical.
Chattogram Medical College Hospital Police Outpost Sub-Inspector Alauddin Talukder confirmed that three burn victims were admitted and are currently receiving treatment.
