


A mobile court in Porsha, Naogaon, has sentenced six individuals to various jail terms and fines for drug consumption. The operation, led by the local administration and police, took place late Friday night.
Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid in the Shisha Bazar area at approximately 8:00 PM on Friday, catching the group while they were using drugs.
Following the arrest, a mobile court was convened at 11:30 PM. Executive Magistrate and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mst. Nabila Ferdous presided over the court, sentencing the six men under Section 36(5) of the Narcotics Control Act, 2018.
The individuals sentenced are, Firoz (40) of Shisha Meda village Abdul Mannan (42) of Kolapara village. Rashidul (45) of Kharpa Dakshinpara village.Shakhil (27) of Tilnachak village, Sapahar. Dulal (30) of Gotpara village. Saddam (39) of Patnitala Upazila.
Porsha Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ziaur Rahman confirmed that the convicts were officially sent to jail on Saturday afternoon following the court's order.
