


The orientation for first-semester students admitted to the Post-Graduate Program of the 2024-2025 academic year at the Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), Gazipur, was successfully completed.
The 'Orientation-2025' program was held on the online platform on Sunday evening (December 07). DUET Vice-Chancellor (VC) Professor Dr. Mohammad Joynal Abedin served as the chief guest. In his speech, he warmly welcomed the new students and emphasized DUET's growing reputation. He asserted that DUET has already gained recognition nationally and internationally in engineering education, innovation, and research.
The VC stressed that through continued research and innovation, DUET will "strengthen and enrich its position in the future technology-based world and play a leading role," expressing confidence that DUET researchers will play a "leadership role in the international arena." He further highlighted that in engineering, a strong foundation is built not just on academic knowledge but also on research, publications, and international cooperation.
Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Arefin Kawsar, the special guest, congratulated the students and underscored the importance of punctuality, discipline, and responsibility. He reminded them that learning extends beyond the classroom, with real engineering knowledge created through laboratories, projects, collaborations, and discussions.
The program was presided over by the University Registrar (Additional Duty) Professor Dr. Moha. Abu Tayyab. The welcome speech was delivered by the Controller of Examinations (Additional Duty), Professor Dr. Mohammad Abdul Kader, who also presented the rules and regulations of the Post-Graduate Program.
Deans of the Faculty of Science, Professor Dr. Md. Kamal-Al-Hasan, and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Professor Dr. Md. Anwar Hossain, were also special guests. The event was attended by various faculty deans, department heads, institute directors, course coordinators, teachers, and new students.
