


Police have arrested a person with 13 kg of marijuana in Indurkani, Pirojpur. The drugs were recovered during a drive in the Aurapol area of the upazila on Sunday afternoon.
Police said that a large consignment of drugs was coming to Indurkani from Chittagong in a pickup truck, and the police led by ASI Ataur Rahman of Indurkani Police Station conducted a drive on the Indurkani-Kalaran road. Sensing the presence of the police, the drug traffickers tried to escape with the pickup truck after dropping a sack full of marijuana in the Aurapol area.
Later, the police chased and arrested the pickup truck driver, Mahabub Molla (38), from the Patherhat area along with the pickup truck and brought it to the police station. However, the drug dealer Mintu Molla (35), who was in the same vehicle, escaped.
The arrested Mahbub Molla is the son of Eshahak Molla of Panchakaran Union of Morelganj Upazila of Bagerhat district.
Indurkani Police Station OC Ahsan Kabir said, "This was the largest consignment of drugs recovered at Indurkani Police Station." Preparations are underway to file a case under the Narcotics Control Act in this incident.
