


It has been reported that an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) from the Chawkbazar police station of the Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP), identified as Ahidur Rahman, took his own life by hanging.
His body was discovered in the toilet of the police station barracks on the morning of Sunday, November 23. Sources indicate that the late Ahidur Rahman hailed from Banidatta Bazar, located in the Kabirhat police station area of Noakhali district. His father is Md. Shahidullah, and his mother is Hasina Akhtar.
Tariqul Islam, the Assistant Commissioner (AC) of CMP's Chawkbazar zone, stated, "I have been informed that an ASI committed suicide this morning (Sunday). Further legal proceedings will follow based on the findings of the investigation report. However, I am currently on leave and unable to provide additional details."
Shafiqul Islam, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Chawkbazar Police Station, mentioned, "After completing his night duty, Ahidur went to the toilet to freshen up. When he did not emerge for an extended period, others knocked on the door. Upon receiving no response, they broke the door down and discovered that he had hanged himself." The OC also confirmed that the body has been retrieved and transported to Chattogram Medical College Hospital.
