


Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury announced that members of the Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) will be deployed for nine days to ensure a "festive and orderly" general election in February.
Briefing reporters after a vehicle handover ceremony, the Home Adviser detailed that 13 Ansar members (ten armed and three unarmed) will be deployed at each polling center. Additionally, for the first time, every presiding officer will be accompanied by an armed Ansar member for security.
The Home Adviser also lauded the Ansar and VDP for their contribution to national security and peace, emphasizing the government's responsibility to improve their welfare. He announced the introduction of a new transport service 31 vehicles purchased with funds from the Ansar Welfare Trust to facilitate personnel movement and provide ambulance support.
He also praised the Sanjibon Programme aimed at uplifting the living standards of Ansar members.
