To ease traffic congestion during the holiday rush, Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md. Sarwar announced a ban on truck and covered van movement on the days surrounding Eid. The decision was shared during a meeting with bus owners and labor leaders at the Gabtoli Bus Terminal on Saturday.

To ensure a smooth journey for holidaymakers, Commissioner Sarwar confirmed the establishment of passenger help desks at major points. He issued a strict warning that unfit vehicles, specifically those with structural defects or broken locks, will not be permitted on the roads.

Security will also be tightened across all terminals. "Additional police personnel will be deployed to assist passengers," the Commissioner stated. He added that the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit, RAB, and plainclothes officers will be on high alert to ensure public safety throughout the festive period.
