The day is being observed as a public holiday. President Mohammed Shahabuddin and Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus issued separate messages of greeting to the Christian community.
President Shahabuddin highlighted Bangladesh’s tradition of communal harmony and urged citizens to strengthen these bonds to build a developed nation.
Professor Muhammad Yunus described Bangladesh as a "shining example of communal harmony" and called upon the Christian community to help realize the dream of a "New Bangladesh" inspired by patriotism and humanity.
The celebrations in Bangladesh mirror the global observance of the festival, focusing on peace, justice, and the liberation of humanity.
