


Police in Dhaka recovered a dismembered human body from the footpath adjacent to the National Eidgah ground on Thursday afternoon, prompting a murder investigation.
According to Shahbagh Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khalid Mansur, two plastic drums were reportedly thrown onto the footpath near the water pump at the National Eidgah ground between 2:30 pm and 2:45 pm. Upon investigation, one of the drums was opened, revealing the dismembered body of a man, including his head.
A police team immediately rushed to the scene and recovered the remains of the victim, who is estimated to be around 47-48 years old. The body has been transferred to the Dhaka Medical College (DMCH) Hospital morgue for an autopsy to determine the cause and time of death.
OC Khalid Mansur confirmed that significant efforts are currently underway to identify the deceased and conduct a detailed, comprehensive investigation into the crime.
