


Ahead of the elections, the voting process for expatriate and in-country voters (ICPV) through the ‘Postal Vote BD’ mobile app is in full swing. According to the latest information from the Election Commission, a large portion of the ballots sent by expatriates and domestic voters have already reached Bangladesh and returning officers have started receiving them.
The EC gave this information based on information received till 9 am on Wednesday (February 11).
According to the Election Commission, more than 7 lakh 66 thousand ballots sent for expatriates have reached the respective countries. Of these, more than 5 lakh 28 thousand voters have collected their ballots.
The EC said that 766,862 ballots have reached (in the destination country), 528,579 have been received by voters, 515,619 have completed voting, 507,327 have been deposited in post boxes (in the relevant country), 481,185 have reached Bangladesh, and 444,436 have been deposited with the returning officer.
Similarly, there has been great enthusiasm among those voting through postal ballots within the country. More than 760,000 ballots have already been sent to voters through Bangladesh Post.
760,898 postal ballots have been sent, 611,650 ballots have been received by voters, 580,665 ballots have been cast, 561,139 have been deposited at the post office, and 438,951 postal ballots have been received by the returning officer.
