


The Jhalokati Sadar Upazila administration hosted a comprehensive public welfare and development event on Thursday July 16 inaugurating the new Upazila Parishad building and distributing vital assistance to local communities.
Dr. S. M. Ziauddin Haider the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Health, attended as the chief guest. After inaugurating the new administrative building, he launched a local tree plantation drive to promote environmental sustainability.
Chaired by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Segufta Mehnaz and attended by Deputy Commissioner Md. Momin Uddin, the program prioritized support for marginalized and crisis-affected citizens.
Key initiatives included the distribution of "Golden Citizen" cards to persons with disabilities, ensuring their streamlined access to state services. To boost regional agriculture, the administration provided seeds and saplings to local farmers. Additionally families recently devastated by fires received emergency relief, including rice and financial aid checks.
The initiative was successfully executed with structural support from the Upazila Agriculture, Social Service and Project Implementation offices. Local government officials, public representatives and beneficiaries attended the event.
