National Fruit Fair 2026 Held in Muksudpur, Gopalganj

The National Fruit Fair-2026 was held in Muksudpur, Gopalganj, on Thursday (June 25) under the theme, “Let Us Cultivate Fruits and Preserve Them Throughout the Year.” The event was organized by the Muksudpur Upazila Agriculture Extension Department and took place at the Upazila Parishad premises at 10:00 am.

The program was presided over by Muksudpur Upazila Agriculture Officer Agriculturist Md. Mizanur Rahman, while Upazila Agriculture Extension Officer Ayesha Siddiqui conducted the event. Md. Abirul Islam, Assistant Commissioner (Land) of Muksudpur Upazila, attended as the chief guest.

Among the special guests were Officer-in-Charge of Muksudpur Police Station Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Muksudpur Upazila BNP President Abdus Salam Khan, Upazila Livestock Officer Dr. Jahangir Alam, Upazila Youth Development Officer Sayad Uddin Ahmed, Upazila Social Services Officer Md. Rakibul Hasan Shuvo, Senior Upazila Fisheries Officer Md. Azizul Islam, Muksudpur Municipal BNP President Abul Bashar Tultu Biswas, General Secretary Mashiur Rahman Mintu, Muksudpur Press Club President Md. Chiru Mia, and BNP’s Upazila Agriculture Affairs Secretary Md. Bacchu Sheikh.

The event was also attended by Banshbariya Union Parishad Chairman Md. Moniruzzaman Molla, Dignagar Union Parishad Chairman Mohammad Ali, Muksudpur Press Club General Secretary Kazi Md. Ohidul Islam, Joint General Secretary Shamsul Arefin, Office Secretary Paresh Biswas, along with government officials, local representatives, farmers, and distinguished guests.

Speakers at the discussion emphasized the importance of consuming more fruits to maintain good health and meet nutritional needs. They highlighted the need to increase fruit cultivation, encourage the planting of fruit-bearing trees, and promote proper fruit preservation to ensure year-round availability.

Following the discussion, the guests visited various stalls displaying seasonal and indigenous fruits. They encouraged local farmers and entrepreneurs to expand fruit cultivation and praised their contributions to agricultural development. The fair attracted enthusiastic participation from farmers, agricultural entrepreneurs, and members of the local community.
