Fire Service Week 2026 Inaugurated in Jhalokati

Fire Service and Civil Defense Week 2026 began in Jhalokati on Wednesday, May 20, focusing on the theme: "Firefighters have only one goal we will keep property and life safe."

Deputy Commissioner Md. Momin Uddin attended as the chief guest, formally inaugurating the three-day program by hoisting the national flag at the Jhalokati Fire Service and Civil Defense Station at 11:00 a.m.

Following the inauguration, Jhalokati Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Segufta Mehnaz presided over a discussion meeting. Civil Surgeon Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir and Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Saiful Islam spoke as special guests.

Delivering the welcome address, Jhalokati Warehouse Inspector Shrivas Baroi emphasized that collective efforts can make the Fire Service more modern, efficient, and humane. "With community support, this institution will play a stronger role in ensuring the safety of our citizens," he said.

In his address, Deputy Commissioner Momin Uddin praised the organization's dedication. "The Fire Service has earned public trust through professionalism, courage, and sacrifice during disasters. As an Independence Award-winning institution that is always the first to rush to the side of people in danger, it is the pride of our nation," he said.

The event was attended by Fire Service officials, local industry owners, Rover Scouts, civil society members, and journalists.
