Joint Drive Clears Illegal Sidewalk Structures in Jhalokati

A joint eviction drive by the district and municipal administrations cleared illegal structures and floating shops from Jhalokati city's sidewalks on Thursday (July 9) afternoon.

Led by Assistant Commissioners SM Saiful Islam and SM Ashraful Islam, the task force removed 15 to 20 illegal establishments. Municipal Assistant Engineer Md. Nazmul Hasan, Ansar members, and other civic staff assisted in the operation.

During the drive, authorities formally warned the evicted vendors against reoccupying the walkways.

Municipal officials confirmed that these eviction campaigns will continue regularly in the public interest. The initiative aims to ensure smooth, safe pedestrian movement and restore the city's visual appeal, which had been compromised by long-term encroachments.
